Farewell to PD2073…

Some five years ago, I said farewell to my 1998 Volkswagen Polo. It “died in battle” as the result of an accident, though in truth it was on its last legs anyway…

Now, I must say farewell to my existing car, a 1990 Ford Telstar (really a re-badged Mazda 626, but never mind). This one managed a tad under five years, before the engine finally gave out in late June.

This was the car I taught myself to drive manual transmission in. Given its age, it was always under the shadow of needing repairs and patch-up jobs, but honestly, for something I bought for $1000, I think it managed as well as could reasonably be expected.
