Saving Hobitit: The Finnish LOTR TV Series Rides Again!

I have referred to the (unique) 1993 Finnish television adaptation of The Lord of the Rings before. Alas, at some point in the last few months, the YouTube copy of this series was scrubbed from YouTube on copyright grounds… never mind that there are no DVDs available, and hence no designated “legitimate” way of actually watching it. This deletion saves no money, and just screws with Tolkien fans who want to enjoy this… special… production.

In the interests of rectifying this, I have managed to get hold of an English subtitled version of the full series, in .mp4 format.

Here it is. It is 625 MB, and just under three and a half hours in total.

Addendum: I have also uploaded a 40 second clip of the Ring’s destruction to YouTube:

As I noted in a previous post about depictions of Sauron, Sauron here is represented by a very ordinary Eye.
